International Coaching Certification for Roach

Bahamian coach and Bahamas Olympic Committee Vice President, Dorian Roach, was among 31 international coaches to graduate from a top-level coaching program backed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The coaches graduated this week from the International Coaching Enrichment Certification Program (ICECP), a joint program of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, the University of Delaware, and Olympic Solidarity – a department of the IOC. The graduation ceremony was held April 24 at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The program aims to assist national-level coaches in developing proficiency in areas of sport sciences, talent identification, athlete development, safe sport, coaching education, coaching management and grassroots sports development. Diplomas were handed to 31 coaches from 27 countries, impacting 17 sports. To date, ICECP has reached 457 participants from 125 nations and 39 sports since its inception in 2008.
