The Queen’s Baton, destined for an arrival of pomp and pageantry in Glasgow this July for the Commonwealth Games, made its way around New Providence as part of its Commonwealth Relay.
Officials of the Bahamas Olympic Committee greeted the baton and those who are escorting. The trek through Nassau included a welcome reception at the Diplomatic Lounge at Lynden Pindling International Airport, a relay through the streets of the capital that involved the various member federations of the BOC, a cultural presentation at the Kendal Isaacs Gym and a reception at Government House.
The Bahamas was the 56th Country to receive the baton.
